Named best restaurant in ALGER 2013

Hamoum Boujemaa is a happy man. He proudly gets the nomination of “best Restaurant of 2013 Algiers Wilaya” at the age of 37. This nomination is issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts.

A few months after the opening of the restaurant "The Kingpin" Boulevard Mohamed V, he received this nomination which is considered as a happy distinction that rewards the tourism sector.

After high school, he entered the School of Tourism Tizi-Ouzou. As a Graduate, he worked primarily in many restaurants as a server or a butler. He left this business to go into the import and export business for a short time, but he soon returned to his passion for restaurants and to be a restaurant manager at The Kingpin which he is still doing right now.

The restaurant is built on several levels, including the kitchen, the first room on the ground floor, the second room on the first floor which offers a dinner with music on weekends and soon to be a winter garden on the second floor. A dumbwaiter is used to make sure there is a good flow between these levels. The menu is essentially French gastronomy, but complying with the local demand now the restaurant is also offering Algerian specialties.

Satisfy the customer is our main issue

Everything is “clean” and modern in this restaurant which is considered as a reassurance for the customer. We also have Wi-Fi connection for the customers. The restaurant still doesn’t have its own web site but we created a Facebook page people and customers can follow. When the restaurant is still closed, the waiter would be cleaning conscientiously the bar glasses. In fact, the owner and the restaurant manager emphasize on the hygiene as well as the customer satisfaction. What is customer satisfaction for Hamoum? “The customer has to be comfortable, in a nice environment with a great menu and a good service” What is missing in the Algerian Tourism for Hamoum Bouijemaa? “Definitely qualified staff” and also “lack of places to go out to and to be entertained at”

Develop the urbain environment

Hamoum Boujemaa believes that the quality process is interesting. He always has done it without enough realizing it as M. Jourdain’s prose! He thinks that the service quality supports the promotion as well as the restaurant’s visibility. hanging the brand panel “tourism quality Algeria is a good way to attract customers. “It is good for the business”. He is fully committed to this approach which is beneficial to all; it goes from everyone in the company to the entire country. He is also encouraging all his colleagues to do so. However, he is requesting “more practical details and less administration and paperwork for issuing permits”. He is also advising to “increase and decentralize public training schools and make them accessible in all the regions" precisely to address the lack of qualified staff. He is also asking the city Authorities to develop and better treat the urban environment, improve the lighting at night and find solutions to the huge parking problem that repels customers during the day.
